Thank You for Writing to Us

Andy C.

Just catching up on ND items - looks like your request for roofer suggestions is closed. Wanted to sneak in yet another recco for Nieporte roofing.

I live in SLO. Years ago I asked a major local and multi-generational general contractor for his roofer advice. He said "Nieporte," and after their 1st job for me, I've never looked back since! I no longer get quotes - I just ask John to "do it." To date he's done 3 different residential roof's for me on properties we've owned / currently own (including our own residence) - strip off old roof, new sheathing, drip edge, new quality comp. shingles, etc. He'll be doing a 4th roof for us when he feels its time to - asked him to look at it last week during all the heavy rain - was getting nervous about its condition - He replied - "I'll be there today or tomorrow."

On our most recent Nieporte roof replacement job (Duplex and our house in 2015 & 2016 respectively), the duplex roof had a very challenging connection to an adjacent building. Historically this original connection" would cause leaks. John engineered a much better way, communicated with our general contractor (was on site installing new trusses) on what and how to frame a better solution in this problem area. Its working great! what a huge relief! FYI, we received 7.5 inches of rain this past week. John is outstanding! He's also on time - no excuses or delays - his word is good. He treats each job as a special project and looks for any potential design problems like we had and suggests improvements for us to consider as ultimately his name is on the roof. Most roofers just strip (when necessary), put down new, and move on to next job (i.e. "Blow & Go"). i.e. "hired from the shoulders down." Not John - yes, he and his crew are expedient and work hard, but John also works "smart" - by looking out for the home / business owner and what's best for the long term. Ultimately the owner can decide what to do, but at least John carefully looked the job over and offered suggestions, corresponding cost breakdowns, etc.

I could go on with more examples of John's quality and service. Local and licensed guy, been here for years, raised his Family here, active in the community, steady and stable, here to stay, and that gives me peace of mind.
